The village of Woodchurch is approximately 1 mile away. There is a church, village hall, 2 public houses, post office, general stores and doctors' surgery. Residents are supported and encouraged to be part of the local community and use the facilities.

Getting around - There is an hourly bus service to Ashford or Tenterden where there are many amenities e.g. leisure centre, cinemas, shopping centres, library and bowling alley. There is a mainline station with trains to London, Canterbury and Dover. The house also enjoys use of the Trust's fleet of vehicles.
