The Legendary Route! Day 2

Yesterday seems to have been just a mere warm up.  Not helped by getting a puncture 100 yards from the start line but 6 miles later then had a 500 ft climb within a mile. That got us going and on the bright side James didn't fall off today!

A lovely ride down to Inverness and then some spectacular views of Loch Ness.  The photo not only has the loch in the background but was by Kelly Sotherton of British Heptathlon athletic fame who is riding in our group.

All was well until 90 miles when despite eating everything we could the energy levels were low and we were hit by brutal hills with only 25 miles to go!  Have aches in some interesting places.

Good fun though and apparently tomorrow is harder with a 6.30 start!

Here are todays stats;  Kyle of Sutherland to Fort William (near Ben Nevis). 116.27 miles in 8hrs/26 mins in the saddle. Ave speed 13.78 mph with 6545 ft of ascent. 6625 calories burned!
