COT welcomes £500 donation from Society of Kent Golf Captains

It was a rainy, cold day when Geoff and Janet Houghton came to visit us on the Farm at the Rare Breeds Centre, so we kept warm by the lovely open fire in our Granary Restaurant.

The rain wasn’t enough to dampen our spirits however, as Geoff (the Captain and Chairman of the Society of Kent Golf Captains) came to present us with a very generous £500 donation, raised by the Society’s members. The Restaurant Catering Students (pictured) were very pleased to accept the donation on behalf of COT. The donation will help us to continue to provide training, homes and work experience for adults with learning disability.

Angela Phipps, Fundraiser for COT said “Our heartfelt thanks go to all of the members of the Society of Kent Golf Captains for supporting our work with people with learning disability. We know that Golfers are a very generous bunch, so if anyone out there would like to host a Golf Day to help us raise further funds, then we’d be delighted to hear from you!”
