WATCHBELL HOUSE is a large listed house located in the historic conservation area, Cinque Port and medieval town of Rye in East Sussex. It is home to 6 adults with learning disabilities. The property, situated in one of Rye's quiet cobbled streets, is on three floors. On the ground floor there is a large entrance hall, dining room, kitchen, lounge overlooking the garden, l bedroom and toilet. On the first floor there are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms / toilets. On the top floor there are two bedrooms and an office/staff sleep-in room. There is a small garden at the rear of the property with gazebo and fruit trees. Rye with its cobbled streets has a variety of attractive shops, a library, town hall, schools, several churches, hotels and restaurants. There is a sports centre and adult evenings classes are held at the local comprehensive school. There is a train station with services to Ashford/London and Hastings/Brighton. There are also bus services from Brighton to Dover and into Kent. Within a short walk of the town there are beautiful views over the River Rother and surrounding countryside. The beaches of Camber and Winchelsea Beach can be reached by a short bus ride. There is a small hospital in Rye and a large one in Hastings. There are doctors, dentists, chiropodists, opticians, osteopaths and homeopaths within walking distance of Watchbell House.
