Residential Services - The Bungalow

THE BUNGALOW is a purpose built bungalow situated in the village of Aldington some 8 miles from the town of Ashford. It is home to 6 adults of varying ages and abilities who have complex needs.

The house, with extensive views over Romney Marsh has 6 residential bedrooms, 2 offices / staff bedrooms, one bathroom fitted with specialist bathing facilities, 1 shower room and two toilets. There is a spacious hall, large lounge kitchen / dining room and laundry room. In 2007 a new extension has been added to allow for increased living space and sensory activities,

The gardens have recently been upgraded to add a further patio area. There are flower beds and lawns, which the service users can take advantage of. There is also an area for growing fruit and vegetables. COT day services at Poulton Wood and Harrington College are very close to The Bungalow .

The village of Aldington has a population of approximately 1,500. The local amenities are a Post Office, village hall, pub (Walnut Tree) and local Anglican church.

There is a daily bus service to the large town of Ashford where there are many community amenities, two large shopping complexes and bus / train services The house has its own transport for the use of the service users, including a minibus. Hamstreet Station is approximately 5 miles away with trains to Ashford, London, Canterbury and Hastings.

Service users are actively encouraged to use the facilities in their local community.
