How working with COT can
help your business
- A modern company prides itself on its image and involvement
in the local community. Working with COT and The Rare Breeds
Centre gives tangible proof that a company cares about others
and wishes to help in improving the local environment
- One of the best ways to assist COT is to provide volunteers
to work on a project. This activity will promote teamwork between
the volunteers and helps foster team spirit
- "The Falcons" is a conference facility based at
the Rare Breeds centre. This allows the hosting of off-site corporate
functions for between 20 and 125 people at very reasonable rates
- Becoming a corporate sponsor provides additional benefits
such as name association with big events and discounted tickets
for company employees. The Rare Breeds Centre is one of Kent's
top tourist destinations, attracting over 80,000 visitors a year.
How your business can help
COT
- COT recruits teams of volunteers from corporate sponsors
to complete projects that provide a lasting benefit to the residents
of COT and the wider community. These projects typically involve
practical activity, for example, creating gardens, pulling up
fences and renovating wooden furniture
- COT relies on generous individual and corporate donors for
its continuing operation. We welcome corporate donations for
both specific projects and general support. Additionally we support
the Payroll Giving initiative and can provide further details
- Every year, COT holds a number of sponsored special events
to raise funds and promote the charity. Become one of our special
event sponsors and raise the profile of your business concern
- Holding conferences and meetings at "The Falcons"
centre gives you the chance to use the excellent facilities with
all of the proceeds being donated to Canterbury Oast Trust.

Pfizer
Pfizer Ltd generously contributed £17,000 towards the cost
of providing a Mobile Animal Farm, which will allow the transportation
of a number of small animals to Care Projects around Kent. (Beneficiaries
will include Demelza House, Pilgrims Hospice and Barchester Healthcare.)
This gives residents of these Care Projects direct contact with
animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks and ferrets. This
sum also enables COT to run a Life skills project that permits
residents to take externally accredited academic qualifications
such as National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ), National Proficiency
Test Council (NPTC) certificates and City and Guilds.
Ringway Group
Ringway Group kindly laid a 250 yard asphalt road to provide
better access for tractors and visitors. This donation included
both the materials and the time and expertise of the workers.
GlaxoSmithKline
GlaxoSmithKline provided two teams of volunteers, the first team
putting up a shed (donated by the company), while the second
stripped down and stained the restaurant furniture.
Brachers Solicitors
Brachers Solicitors donated £200 for the purchase of spring
bulbs for the garden. These were combined with 100kg of bulbs
from Hadlow college and a group of volunteers from Brachers proceeded
to plant some of them.
