Chris wheels in GlaxoSmithKline

We like to make your visit to The Rare Breeds Centre a comfortable one and we like to give credit where it is due. So step forward John Cook & his volunteers from GlaxoSmithKline.

He brought along two teams who did fantastic work on our facilities. One team put up a shed-bought with money donated by the Company-that will be used to house wheelchairs for visitors to the Centre. The other team stripped the restaurant furniture and stained it beautifully so it is now fresh and welcoming for our diners.

John has a particular connection with the Trust - his disabled brother-in-law, Chris, has lived on the farm for the last 15 years through the continued support of COT. Chris joined John and other volunteers as they renovated furniture.

During a well-deserved break, the team took part in the farm's featured attraction of pig-racing, which added further to the overall enjoyment of the day.

They did great work and enjoyed themselves so much that they promised to return. John said "The farm staff were generous in their provision of refreshments and lunch and were very grateful for all help we provided on the day and through our funding".

They can be sure of a warm welcome from us!
