Harrington College is able to offer a fully accessible resource in which to provide a range of educational sessions for people with learning and physical disabilities.

Subjects taught include Information Technology, Numeracy/Literacy, French and Music. Currently the College operates between Monday and Friday.

Subjects are delivered by experienced tutors in an appropriate environment with individual assessment and regular reviews to assess progress and set future aims and objectives.

In addition, group sessions are run to establish a positive social interaction as part of the overall learning environment.

Course work includes educational visits and partnerships with other education providers. The College maintains positive community links to sustain diversity in activity developments and opportunities.

Computer resources available to students at the College include touch screen computers, Roller ball mice, Big colour keys keyboards, switch operation and an image projector. Information Technology is used throughout a variety of other sessions within the College.

Information Technology courses range from sensory through to accredited training level and use a wide range of programs, exercises and projects to aid skill development.

 

A number of musical instruments are available for use by musical enthusiasts for enjoyment purposes and to encourage their participation in music sessions. Instruments available for their use include guitars, xylophones, bongos, tambourines, bells, shakers and recorders.

A variety of teaching techniques and resources are used within our Numeracy and Literacy and French sessions to encourage and aid student learning and concentration in a relaxed, friendly and stimulating environment.
