JASMINE HOUSE is a
modern, purpose built bungalow style building containing four
self-contained flats and a laundry room on the Highlands Farm
site. It is home to 4 people with learning disabilities.
Situated in the rural setting of Woodchurch, Kent, Highlands
Farm is part of a site better known for the South of England
Rare Breeds Centre, a tourist attraction offering training to
people with learning disabilities.
Community Support ServicesJasmine House is part of
COT Community Support Services and provides homes for people
moving away from residential care and towards independent living.
Each self-contained flat has a large bed-sitting room, kitchen
and bathroom/toilet. There is access to a large communal garden
with patio and B-B-Q.
Housing
Each tenant agrees an individual Tenancy Agreement to rent
a flat. A Tenancy Agreement states the provision and services
that the tenant can expect and includes, maintenance of the property,
health and safety, equipment provided within the rent, rights
of access, rent and service amounts, dates of tenure, periods
of notice.

Highlands Farm is situated on the B2067 between Hamstreet
and Tenterden. In the village of Woodchurch there is a church,
village hall, 2 public houses, post office, general stores and
doctors' surgery. There is an hourly bus service to Ashford or
Tenterden where there are many amenities e.g. leisure centre,
cinemas, shopping centres, library and bowling alley. There is
a main line station with trains to London, Canterbury and Dover
Support services
In addition to, and separate from, the Tenancy Agreement,
COT Community Support
Services can provide a tenant with assistance in their daily
living activities and provide skill development and Life Skills
opportunities. Where a tenant does require this service COT will
agree with the person an individually tailored Care Agreement.
