Our New Collecting Tins

Earlier on this year, the generosity of the volunteers of the Hitrade Charity shop in Sidcup enabled Canterbury Oast Trust to redesign their collection tins. After a very creative time designing and making the tins, they were launched on the public in a collecting event.

Having been provided with generous funding from Hitrade, a team of staff and volunteers brainstormed an exciting new, eye catching design for the collecting tin. Paul Murphy, a Creative Advertising Consultant, very liberally volunteered his expertise and helped a great deal with the design process and the launch of the tins. The tin was illustrated with photographs of our residents in action, which had been captured by professional photographer Greg Allen, who had also generously volunteered his time.

The new tins were taken on to the streets of Tenterden by the residents who had been depicted on the labels. Despite the cold weather the event attracted lots of attention and resulted in a front page story in the Kentish Express. Thanks to all involved and we hope that our collecting tins will have many years of lucrative service.
